When I was approached by the Creative Lead at the Educational Opportunity Program at California State University Northridge to help refine and finalize the program brand logo, I was thrilled for the opportunity. When I was introduced to the project, I knew the team wanted something meaningful, timeless, and iconic. Building on the historic “raised fist” iconography as its base, the logo was given two meaningful elements to represent the program and its historic roots to the communities it serves. A diploma was illustrated to represent the achievement of the program’s goals for all students involved, and a bridge was a direct visual to the summer “bridge” program that helps prepare incoming students for their academic careers. Lastly, the iconography was placed inside an open-ended container, which also serves as the “O” in the “EOP” portion of the brand. This was truly a passion project, as the new logo will serve as the organization’s brand for years to come. I am humbled to have had a role in its finalization.
